 Day 9 – PEER RELATIONSHIPS

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! – Psalm 133:1

One of the greatest truths that has changed my life is that I am here to love God and to love you, that’s it. I think we complicate life and the mission and purpose God has for us, by thinking that life is more than this. But lets be honest, it’s not easy loving people. Sometimes it’s so much easier to hold a grudge, bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness towards others rather than showing love through all circumstances.

As the body of Christ we are called to value others and to rejoice when those around us are successful and are getting blessed. Let me ask you a question, how do you feel when someone you know gets a blessing or is successful in a particular situation. Is there jealousy that rises up in you? Maybe you feel envy or anger? If this is the case, this must be dealt with! As the body of Christ we must rejoice when others are being blessed by the favor of God.

If there is anything the devil loves, it’s when the church is not unified because of jealousy and envy! We must get passed this selfish perspective if we are going to step into an intimate relationship with the Father and experience revival. Unity pleases the Lord just as much as faith does, and if you struggle with this don’t beat yourself up, there is freedom available.

Today as you spend time with the Father, ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Ask Him to reveal anything that may cause you to be disconnected to the body of Christ. Humble yourself today as you value others by rejoicing in their blessings and success!!

PRAYER: Holy Spirit search my heart and reveal any jealousy or envy that may cause me to be disconnected to the body of Christ. Help me to rejoice when others are being blessed and successful, in Jesus name, Amen!

FASTING TIP: Sing songs during devotions for worship and energy.

ADDITIONAL READING: Psalm 139:1-24

APPLICATION:

Schedule a time to spend time with the Holy Spirit. You must be intentional and please remember that the devil will do everything to stop you from doing this.

RECIPE: Berry Blast Smoothie

1 cup water

1 cup frozen blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries

1 banana, peeled

Yield: 2 servings (serving size: about 8 ounces or 1 cup)

Recipe Notes

Your smoothie will taste best if either the berries or the banana is frozen. To freeze bananas, remove peels

before placing in freezer. Put in a plastic zip-top bag until completely frozen.

To make this a “green” smoothie, add 1 cup of fresh spinach or kale leaves (stems removed from the kale).

Add 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal for a fiber boost.
