Day 8- SOURCE OF COMFORT
“Come to Me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”- Matthew 11:28
The cares of this world will put pressure on you; this is something we cannot control. God has a way of getting your attention and allowing certain circumstances to bring you to a place of solitude so that He can have one on one time with you. When things don’t go your way, where do you find your source of comfort? When betrayal is experienced, where do you find your source of peace? When provision is needed, who do you run to for security?
Your heavenly Father is saying right now, “Come to Me, I AM more than enough!” He knows exactly what is going on in your life and He wants to come to your rescue, but you must be still long enough to be filled and saturated with His presence. The comfort and rest you are looking for can only be found in the presence of Jesus and He is waiting for you to come and accept the invitation of intimacy.
There is nothing more important, valuable, precious and glorious than the presence of Jesus! Everything you need is found in His presence. Will you take the time today to allow the Holy Spirit to show you Jesus by being still and entering into your true source of comfort and rest? Will you be intentional by removing all distractions so that you can experience His love?
He is waiting for you; will you accept His invitation today?
Will you allow the presence of God to be your true source today?
PRAYER: Holy Spirit I want to experience the presence of Jesus. I need you to give me strength to be still long enough so I can be filled and saturated with the peace, comfort and rest of the Father. I respond to the Father invitation of intimacy and I say yes! In Jesus name, Amen!
Fasting Tip: Drink water or natural juice when you feel hunger pains.

RECIPE: High-protein Breakfast Stir-fry for the Daniel Fast
Sometimes it can be hard coming up with good breakfasts on the Daniel Fast,
especially if you are used to eggs.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 cup firm tofu, diced in bite-sized pieces
garlic salt to taste
Italian herbs to taste
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add oil and heat for a couple minutes. Add the onions and green peppers and stir fry for 2-3 minutes. Add tofu, garlic salt and Italian herbs. Continue to cook until vegetables are soft.
Makes two servings.
This was so tasty. The tofu is about the same consistency as egg whites and it soaks up the flavors of whatever it’s being cooked with. Very easy, tastes great, and lot of protein.
