DAY #4

Let us know how it is going by COMMENTING below. What is working, how is God speaking and more ….

Doubt is Poison

“Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6

The definition of doubt is: a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction. Let us compare faith to a bottle of 100% purified water and now let us compare doubt to a drop of sewage. If the manufacture of Poland Spring water put a drop of sewage in their bottled water with the public knowing it, how do you think this would affect Poland Spring product sales?

You don’t need to be a genius to figure this out. We all know what would happen, Poland Spring would be called No More Spring water and close up shop! They would be finished.

James 1:6-8 gives us a very clear picture of the dangers of doubt and how poisonous it really is.

I believe a lot of disciples have faith in God to do the supernatural but the problem we have is like the 100% pure bottled water mixed with sewage, it’s not good for anything.

When our faith is mixed with uncertainty, we are unstable in all our ways and we will not receive anything from the Lord. James 1:7 makes this very clear, “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.” Ouch! Really James? You see, you can have all the head knowledge of who God is, what He has done and what He can do. You could have been raised in the Church as a child and quote scripture like it’s your job.

But the problem lies within our hearts! Listen to what Jesus says in Luke 24:38, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? Being uncertain is a heart issue! To deal with doubt we must examine our hearts honestly because if we don’t deal with it, it could be the very reason why your prayers have not been answered.

We have got to be like the father in Mark 9:24 and shout out in desperation, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!” This verse stirs my heart because we can see faith and doubt battling for this father’s heart, and he gets honest with God and himself and cries out for help. I don’t know the current situation that you are in, but I do know that being uncertain about what God can do will hinder the break through your looking for because doubt is POISON!

Faith and doubt are fighting for your heart; allow revelation of who Jesus is to kill uncertainty in your life so you can start receiving from the Lord today.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me with my doubt and unbelief. Help me to be filled with faith and help me to starve uncertainty out of my life.

Confession: I am free from doubt and I am no longer uncertain of who God is and what He can do!
