Day 19 – TRANSFORMATION
Do not be confirmed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may know what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2
Where the mind goes the body will follow. If your life is a mess, it is because your thinking is a mess. The transforming power of the cross is clearly seen in our lives when our minds are renewed and we have a heavenly perspective. The problem we have is this; we think change comes when we know more. I don’t ever want to take away the importance of studying, memorizing and meditating the scriptures, because the Bible tells us to do these things.
But true transformation only comes when we have daily encounters with God. I like to think of the scriptures as gasoline, and the presence of God like fire. When I put the two together, something supernatural will happen.
David was a lover of the scriptures and also a lover of Gods presence. In Psalm 119:11 David says, “I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. David loved the word of God so much that he memorized it, but memorization alone didn’t make David a man after Gods own heart.
In Psalm 27:4 David also says, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. David was also a lover of Gods presence, and these two ingredients were evident in David’s life. A renewed mind brings transformation when it’s introduced to the word of God and the presence of God. Today as you are filling yourself up with the word of God, be intentional by waiting upon the Lord so His presence can set you on fire.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit I want transformation in my life. Help me be a lover of Your word and Your presence, because I know when I put these two together there will be an explosion of revival in me.
In Jesus name, Amen!!
FASTING TIP: Stay away from chewing gum and caffeine.
