Christ In The Crisis
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.-
Crisis is a part of life if we like it or not. Times of intense difficulty is something we go through and it exposes what’s really inside us. Yesterday we talked about having a heavenly perspective because of the heavenly position we have in Christ and that trials produce godly character. Crisis will put so much pressure on you that it will squeeze whatever is inside of you to come out for the world to see.
Life will put pressure on you, family will put pressure on you, your job will put pressure on you, school will put pressure on you, and when we get squeezed we must be so filled with the Holy Spirit that it’s Jesus that’s poured out of us when crisis hits. How weird would it be if you squeezed an orange and apple juice came out? Or if you squeezed an apple and orange juice came out? I don’t know about you but that would be really weird and abnormal!
Then why do we think it’s normal that when crisis squeezes us everything except for Jesus comes out. We must always have awareness that people are watching how you handle tough situations. They want to see how you respond but what we end up doing is reacting. Jesus never reacted negatively to trials because He was never caught off guard. Those closest to you want to see how genuine your faith in Christ really is.
Being in a crisis can be a very dark time in our lives, and it’s in those dark times when the light of Christ shines the brightest. You are called to be the light of the world and that light must shine bright and loud! The truth is, you can be in crisis and in Christ at the same time and have full confidence because Psalm 33:17 reminds us where our help comes from.
I don’t know what kind of crisis you are facing today but be encouraged because the Lord hears your cry for help, and He will respond! God helps us in difficult times by bringing us through the crisis instead of taking it completely away.
It’s in the crisis that Christ is seen clearly when we choose to trust that He will help us when we need it the most.
Confession: When I am squeezed by life, Jesus is what comes out of me.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, fill me today until I’m over flowing in Your presence and help me see Christ in the crisis.
