Day 15 – SPIRIT AND TRUTH
God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” – John 4:24
I have been so blessed with the opportunity to play guitar for the Lord and for my local church. I made a deal with God at the age of 23 that if He taught me how to play the guitar, I would be committed to only playing for Him. There were days when I would lock myself in my room and practice for hours so that I could be prepared to lead worship one day in front of a congregation, and to lead the Church into the presence of God.
Being part of a worship team is not easy because we are on the front lines of the enemies attack, and we are the first ones to feel the heavy blows. Just think about it, if the worship team is responsible for creating an atmosphere of worship so the Lord can manifest His presence, don’t you think the devil would do everything in his power to stop that? Absolutely!!
For the longest time I thought worship was about the songs we sang, the instruments we played, the lights, the sound system and everything that took place on the platform. But true worship has very little to do with what takes place on that platform but has everything to do with what goes on inside of a persons heart. Spirit and truth cannot be separated; they go together and will stay together for all of eternity. And to worship in Spirit and in truth means that the Holy Spirit must be active in your life.
The kind of worship that the Father wants to receive is the kind that is saturated with His Spirit. There is no other worship the Father can accept; there is no other way around this. We are able to worship in Spirit and truth when we abide in His presence on a daily basis and allow God to fill us so we can give back to Him. We receive to give back to God. Will you allow the Spirit of God to fill you today so you can worship the Father in Spirit and truth?
Prayer: Holy Spirit fill me today so I can worship the Father in truth. In Jesus name, Amen!!
FASTING TIP: Rest as often as you can.
