New Lenses

My bretheren count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience- (James 1:2)

Nobody likes trials because they hurt, frustrate you, can make you angry and leave you disappointed. Nobody wakes up in the morning and says, “I can’t wait to see what kind of trials I am going to face today” and be excited about it. Trials are the last thing we want to deal with and we don’t want to be anywhere near them when they show up. But as I study the word of God and spend some time in the book of James, he starts off with, “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials….” James is telling us to put on new lenses so we can have a heavenly perspective on the trials we face so we can be joyful in them. The way we perceive trials will be the deciding factor on how we deal with them. We must understand that they have a purpose and that is to test your faith! Our faith must be tested so that the trial can produce Godly character in us, so we may be complete and lack nothing. Ephesians 2:6 says that we are seated with Christ in the heavens. When we receive this truth our perspective must change because of the position we have in Christ Jesus.

We have a heavenly position so we must have a heavenly perspective. Allow the Holy Spirit to change your lenses today so you can see trials from Gods perspective.

Confession: Trials produce Godly character in me.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me see trials from a heavenly perspective.
