Day 10 – VIEW OF AUTHORITY
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Intimacy with the Father is not just about reading the Bible or praying, it’s also about how we treat leaders that God has placed in our lives to help us grow spiritually. The Bible tells us to honor and to submit to each other, not out of obligation but simply out of love. Do you value and honor the leaders in your local church? It’s not about being better than or more important than anyone, it’s about creating a culture of honor that pleases the Lord and creates an atmosphere that ushers in His presence.
When we honor each other we are unified, and when there is unity there is love. If you can grasp this wonderful truth, you can save yourself a lot of time and move to the next level of destiny and purpose as the body of Christ.
There is nothing more important than reaching those far from Jesus and showing them love, but how can we show them love when we can’t honor the leaders that love us and want us to grow spiritually?
No one said that honoring authority is easy! Trust me; there have been plenty of times when I have disagreed with leadership, and I have had meetings to discuss these differences. But when all is said and done I have to honor leadership because I want to please my Savior.
I know that if I want to be intimate with God I must honor and respect the ministers that He has placed over my life. As you spend time with the Father, pray for your leaders and their families. Pray that God would bless them tremendously and ask the Father how you could bless them personally.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit help me honor the ministers that you have placed in my life. Help me to be patient with them when I don’t agree with their decisions. Show me how I can bless my leaders personally. In Jesus name, Amen!
