DANIEL FAST 2016
Daniel 10:3, 12 (MSG)
“I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.” Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.”
FUSION CHURCH will begin a 21 day fast beginning on Sun. Jan. 10th-through Sun. the 25th.
Fasting accomplishes two purposes. First, it will reveal how much the flesh has taken control of your emotions. Secondly, it will serve in breaking the flesh’s hold upon the will. Fasting is not something which we are offering up to God, but instead, it assists in offering ourselves up to God. (Rom. 12: 1-2)
Jesus says that the fulfillment of all the Law and Prophets is to love the Lord your God with all your mind, heart and soul. You will sacrifice much for something that you deeply love. Time, money and energy become means to fulfill your heart’s desire.
Think of fasting as an invitation for Jesus to come and live with you.
Isaiah 58: 6-8
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and to break every yoke…then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.”
Ezra 8:21, 23 “Fasting will bring a blessing on our children.”

Daniel only ate that which was natural and bland. For three weeks he consumed water, whole grain breads, vegetables and fruits. This was, and must be for us, a time set aside for prayer and abstinence from pleasure eating.
Water, water, water and 100% pure juices. Always drink plenty of water when you are fasting.
God never asks us to do anything that will harm our bodies. People have hurt their bodies by not drinking enough water on a fast. Water flushes the poison from your system; many doctors feel that fasting is beneficial so long as you drink plenty of water. God is concerned about the good health of your body.
