Day 6 – Faith and Love
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13
The greatest moments I have in my prayer life is when I am still and quiet and the Holy Spirit speaks revelation into my heart. There is nothing that compares to hearing His voice. The Lord spoke these very words to me, “The reason why the Church doesn’t see much healing is because the Bride lacks compassion.” I remember crying that day because I could feel the burden of the Fathers heart for His beloved bride and how He longs for us to be compassionate to those that desperately need to see Jesus.
There are more than one hindrances that can stop the power of faith in your life. Yesterday I spoke of doubt and how poisonous it really is and how it can stop you from receiving anything from the Lord. I believe in a show and tell Gospel! The supernatural is always present when the true gospel of the Kingdom is preached. But there is more professionalism than passion. I hear Christians shouting crucify rather than being crucified.
Faith and love are units that work, when knitted together to present a show and tell gospel to the world. Our definition of love is so tainted by our experiences that we become our worst enemy. My definition of love was so unbiblical and backwards that I actually thought I was loving people by showing them their faults so that they would be convicted and accept Christ in a desperate manner. But I was so wrong!
When the Lord got a hold of my heart, He showed me the truth in Romans 2:4, “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance and long suffering not knowing that the goodness of God leads to repentance?” The Holy Spirit gave me revelation and changed my perspective of the Fathers goodness that it turned my world right side up. It was His goodness that brought repentance to my life. Repentance is to change the way we think so we can change the way we live.
Proverbs 23:7 says, “……..for as a man thinks in his heart so is he.” Let me say it another way, “People do not attract what they want, but who they are.” In order for us to love biblically we must allow the eyes of our hearts to be opened by the Holy Spirit so He can show us how good God really is, and that changes the way we think. God is so love sick over you that He wants to tell you personally. So position yourself today in the presence of the Lord so He can speak to your heart so faith and love can work together!
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, help me see with the eyes of my heart how good the Father really is so I can love others.
CONFESSION: I have the mind of Christ and the goodness of God helps me walk in faith and love.
