Day 2 – Faith is Spelled R.I.S.K
The definition of risk is: a situation involving exposure to danger. Faith and Risk go hand in hand, you cannot separate them. God is looking for risk takers today to further His Kingdom so His name gets all the glory. Are you willing to enlist into the hall of faith?
There are many examples of risk takers in the Bible, but one of my favorites is in Genesis 12:1-7. God calls Abram who is later called Abraham to leave his country, family, career and his past to a land that he had never seen. This is one of the greatest examples of faith and obedience because Abraham was 75 yrs old when he left his homeland in Haran. He was no spring chicken, he was set in his ways and he was willing to take risks even though it didn’t make sense to him. You see, in order for God to bring us into our future we must take risks to leave everything behind including our past failures and past accomplishments to arrive at our destiny.
Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. Let me say it another way, we must be willing to put everything on the line so that God can lead us and guide to where we need to be. True disciples take risks no matter what kind of danger stands in their way and no matter what the cost is. The second part of Hebrews 11:6 says, “….for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
The truth is God rewards those who take risks at all costs because it brings Him glory and pleasure. Please don’t focus on the reward or you will be very disappointed, but focus on pleasing Him. There is no greater reward than pleasing our heavenly Father and taking risks for Him.
Is your faith alive or dead? If it’s dead, start taking risks today so God can resurrect your faith!!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me focus on pleasing the Father today and not on the sacrifice I offer to Him. Please give me the strength to take risks that bring glory to Jesus!
Confession: I will take action today to further the Kingdom of God no matter what the cost is. I aim to please God with everything I am so that He gets all the glory!
